This bowl was made with paper pulp. A shallow bowl was used as a mould and the final decoration was done by marking off the pattern and then glueing each individual area with PVA. Annemarie spread ginger on the lighter sections and cayenne pepper on the darker ones.

It took a bit of doing to get the look she wanted but several layers and plenty of drying time later, she was ready to seal it with a matt polyeurathane varnish. The underside of the bowl is painted with medium oak wood dye.
