This bowl was made with paper pulp. A shallow plastic bowl was used as the initial mould and the pulp was added in one faily thin layer and smoothed round the (cling wrap lined) bowl.

While the pulp was still wet the small pebbles were pressed into the pulp to form the spiral pattern.

Once it was fully dry the bowl was removed from the mould and a second layer of pulp was added to the underside. This was allowed to dry and then the whole thing was painted with a magnolia household emulsion.

Eack pebble was then individually hand painted with acrylic and the whole thing was sealed with several coats of matt varnish.
